JASON FILMORE SONDOCK

Grand Jury

Jason Filmore Sondock is better known as half of the director duo rubberband. He is a graduate of Tisch’s Kanbar Institute of Film and TV and held the Thomas Walther fellowship at the MoMA in the photography curatorial department before deciding museums were mostly places where people took selfies in front of objects that might’ve just been an actual coatrack, instead of sculpture that attempted to depict a coatrack. And also that exhibition abstracts were written by using an overtly jargony, academic form of the game “madlibs.” His most recent film “Don’t Go Tellin’ Your Momma” won the Grand Jury Prize for Short Non-Fiction at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival which has made him, more or less, question deeply the purpose of the remaining portion of his life.
