Motheo Moeng is a DOP and Photographer who is based in Johannesburg. In 2008 he completed his BA in Motion Picture Medium from AFDA.
Motheo is a member of the S.A.S.C. (South African Society of Cinematographers) which is a huge honor.
Motheo has shot over 10 feature films including Thina Sobabili, which has been selected as the South African entry at the 88th Academy Awards, The Umbrella Men with John Barker which premiered at TIFF, and Catching Feelings with Kagiso Lediga and many others.
Motheo has been a DOP on a drama series, Tjovitjo, directed by Vincent Moloi which won Best Cinematography at the 2018 Saftas.
He has shot Africa’s 1st Netflix original series Queen Sono with directors Kagiso Lediga and Tebogo Malope, as well as Brave Ones which is also available on Netflix. His latest series is Classified which will be screening internationally on Amazon Prime.
Motheo has had the honor of being a judge for the prestigious CICLOPE, Clios and Loerie awards which he is proud of.
