about the jury

Mino Jarjoura is the Global President of Pulse Films Commercial and Music Video division. He has taken the reigns on countless high-profile campaigns, producing hundreds of ads which have garnered four Emmy nominations, one Emmy win, along with numerous CliosD&AD’s and Cannes Lions. In 2013, Jarjoura received a nomination for Best Live Action Short Film at the 85th Academy Awards for producing the short film ASAD. The film was shot in Africa with an all-Somali refugee cast, and screened at over 50 film festivals worldwide, taking top honors at the TriBeCa Film Festival and Michael Moore’s Traverse City Film Festival, among others. Archbishop Desmond Tutu said of the film: “They deserve two Oscars: One for creative endeavor, and the other for contributing to the collective understanding of our dependence on one another.” Mino would return to Africa a few years later to produce the feature film, Pirates of Somalia.

Growing up in Toronto, Canada, Mino started his career running a busy service company in 2001 opening and running the bustling Toronto outpost before immigrating to the US in 2009. He now runs Pulse Films’ global commercial and music video business from their offices in Venice, California, where his primary focus now is the management and growth of the company’s 20 director’s careers, Pulse Films’ operations, and client service.
