about the jury

Producer and entrepreneur Hugo Legrand-Nathan began his career in the early 2000s, producing music videos during a time when the French hip-hop scene was buzzing with creativity. This initial experience in a rapidly growing creative universe helped him shape a unique identity. Eager to transcend the boundaries of French production, he co-founded 2Horloges in 2012 with Yacine Medkour, a pioneering audiovisual production company in Algeria.

In 2013, he founded BIRTH, which quickly became a leading name in the creation of innovative advertising content. Skillfully combining talent, production excellence, and a love of art, BIRTH earned prestigious awards such as the Cannes Lions, the Art Directors ClubEurobest, the Epica Awards, and D&AD.

BIRTH has established itself as a dynamic creative ecosystem, constantly evolving, bringing together young talents across Paris, Algiers, and London. In 2020, BIRTH launched BIRTH LX_, a division specializing in luxury projects with campaigns for prestigious brands like Hermès and Veuve Clicquot. This expansion continued in 2021 with the creation of BIRTH Image, a photography department featuring talents like Peter Funch and Dan Beleiu. More recently, the launch of BORN READY in London, dedicated to the music world where image and sound intersect, perfectly illustrates the versatility that defines BIRTH.

The company has consistently pushed artistic and geographical boundaries, diversifying into film with feature films, short films, documentaries, fiction, and series. With a commitment to nurturing talent, BIRTH supports directors transitioning from advertising to fiction, blending cinematic codes with the visual power of advertising. Projects such as La Mala Familia by Luis Rojo and Nacho A. Villar, and Omar La Fraise (selected at Cannes), showcase this dedication to innovation.

BIRTH and 2Horloges have successfully built bridges between various creative fields, constantly pushing the limits of art and geography. This innovative approach was epitomized with the Territory videoclip for The Blaze, which won the Grand Prix at Cannes Lions in 2016.
