about the jury

Ana Gil was born in Madrid in a cinematographic environment. Her grandfather was a Film Director so she remembers going after school to the studio with her dad and loving all the magic surrounding. She also remembers devouring classical films at home. Her dad had an amazing video tape collection. That led Ana to study Communication at University and, after obtaining her degree, she started working in movies right away. A decade went by working in amazing projects with people from all over the world and directors such as Milos Forman or Paul Greengrass, among others. During those days she traveled a lot and realized she was not meant to end up her professional days in fiction. Ana had a friend in the advertising industry and she started working as freelance for some years. She then discovered her true passion, which is producing commercials. It’s fresh, creative, dynamic, and the work in production felt much more aligned with her personality. So then, after gaining experience as freelance with the main national and service production companies, she decided to move forward and set up her own project. Ultimately, Ana started Hawai Films, and since then and along with the best partner ever, Ivan Smith, they’ve been producing and servicing through these last eight years beautiful and exciting projects together, with her favorite brands (specially Adidas), agencies, and production companies. A couple of years ago Hawai started being awarded in different festivals, such as Ojo Iberoamericano, Sol, Fiap, and they received a nomination to best film at Cannes Lions.
