Sam Pilling is an award-winning director based in London. Sam graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2009, and has since directed music promos for the likes of Chaka Khan, Usher, The Weeknd, Run The Jewels, DJ Shadow, SBTRKT and Major Lazer. Sam’s work always contains a strong sense of visual storytelling with a sprinkling of dark humour, and last year he directed his first short film in collaboration with Little Simz and We Transfer, which made Vimeo’s coveted 10 Best of the Year list out of 700 other Staff-Picked films.
His work has been screened at film festivals across the world including SXSW, Cannes, Cameraimage, Raindance, Edinburgh, Berlin, Krakow, and the BFI Future Film Festival in London. He has worked with talent including Harold Perrineau, Riz Ahmed, Jade Anouka, C.J. Beckford, Shaniqua Okwok, and Simbiatu Ajikawo.
