Screening “Straight 8″
Straight 8 invite anyone anywhere to make a short film on one cartridge of super 8 film, without any editing or post. It’s a great test of filmmaking craft, anyone can enter and there’s no brief, so entrants make the film that they want to make.
Every year over 100 people, from novices to professionals take part. The first time successful entrants see their film is at one of straight 8′s worldwide premieres, like at Slamdance Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, or Cannes Advertising Festival, where the very best entries of each year are showcased.
